Vetted tribal health consultants. Direct to tribes.

The IHA Consultant Marketplace lists consultants, vendors, and firms with verified tribal health experience. Tribes post engagements; consultants respond. IHA does not take commissions, broker deals, or insert itself between buyer and seller.

Why this exists

Tribal health procurement is hard on both sides.

For tribes

Posting an RFP on a federal grant portal yields the same three big firms, most of whom have never done tribal work. Word-of-mouth networks work but leave most tribes outside the conversation. There was no searchable directory of vetted tribal health consultants. Now there is.

For consultants

Independent tribal health consultants, small firms, and subject-matter experts get drowned out by the same big-name firms in federal procurement. Most real tribal health work is small-scope, single-engagement, or teaming arrangements. The Marketplace surfaces those.

Vetting

What we check before listing a consultant.

Tribal health experience

Documented engagements with federally recognized tribes, IHS, urban Indian organizations, or tribal health consortia. Not "I read Fools Crow once."

References

Two verifiable references from tribal or IHS programs, contacted by IHA before listing.

Scope honesty

Consultants list scopes they actually do. A compliance specialist does not claim to do 638 financial modeling unless they actually do.

How it works

Three-step directory, not a brokerage.

1

Tribes post

Engagement scope, timeline, budget range, selection criteria. Either open to all listed consultants or invited subset.

2

Consultants respond

Directly to the tribe. IHA does not touch the proposal or the conversation.

3

Tribe decides

Standard procurement. Single consultant, teaming arrangement, or no-go. IHA collects no commission either way.

Pricing

Free for tribes. Listing fee for consultants.

Tribes use the Marketplace at no cost. Consultants pay an annual listing fee that covers platform infrastructure and the vetting process. IHA does not take commissions on engagements that originate through the Marketplace.

Consultant listing fees are published on the Marketplace landing page after login.

Status

Beta. Live and growing.

The Marketplace is in beta: listings are populating, features are shipping, and the first RFPs have been posted. Beta means we are still iterating on scope taxonomy, consultant onboarding, and tribal posting flow. Feedback is welcome and acted on quickly.
